For the second year running the club championships ran in mid December for the top 16 players. The competition was handicapped, with the first rounds being played in a league format. The finals night consisted of the top two league winners going through to a quarter finals stage. Quarter final losers also went on to play for a 'plate' Chris Lawton (pictured below) was this years' winner, beating first Rob Worley in the semi-final, then Matt Wood in the final. John Foster was awarded honorary life membership for outstanding service to the club over many years. The presentation was made on 15th December by Chairman Douglas Thomson at the same time as the presentation was made to the winner of the club championship. John has been a past club chairman, almost single-handedly keeping the club running at one point. More latterly John has been an excellent membership secretary for a number of years, finally relinquishing the post after the committee reluctantly let him retire!
